Groin pain

What is Groin Pain?

Groin pain is a common complaint, especially among athletes in disciplines such as soccer, running, volleyball, horse riding, and ice skating. This pain is often caused by injury to the muscles on the inner side of the thigh.

The symptoms of groin pain can occur suddenly or gradually:

  • Sudden Groin Pain: This often happens immediately after a wrong step or movement. Gradual Groin Pain: Starts with pain after exercising and can develop into pain during sports and even at rest.
  • Groin pain is not only found in athletes; non-athletes can also experience this pain, although the exact cause is often unknown.
